113247 Pte. Thomas Gill, born in Lancashire, England, in June 1883, signed on in July 1915, in Barriefield, Ontario.


A teamster by trade, with 15 months previous military experience in the 13th Regiment, Thomas originally attested into the 8th CMR on July 31st, 1915.


With the 8th CMR absorbed into the 4th CMR in January 1916, Thomas served with the 4th CMR until lost in the "Battle for Mount Sorrel" on June 2nd, 1916.
